A ventilator circuit is the tubing system connecting a mechanical ventilator to a patient, delivering oxygen and removing exhaled breath through inspiratory and expiratory pathways, often with humidifiers, filters, and Y-pieces, with common types being single-limb (one tube) or dual-limb (separate tubes for inhale/exhale), all designed with specific diameters for adults, peds, or neonates to ensure safe, efficient breathing support. 

An Endotracheal Tube (ET tube) is a flexible, hollow plastic tube (usually PVC) inserted through the mouth or nose into the trachea (windpipe) to maintain a clear airway for mechanical ventilation, anesthesia delivery, or to remove secretions, especially when a patient can't breathe adequately on their own. Key features include a beveled tip (Murphy's eye), depth markings, a radio-opaque line for X-ray, and often an inflatable cuff to seal the airway against leaks and aspiration.
