A Double J (DJ) Stent is a thin, flexible tube with J-shaped curls at both ends, placed inside the ureter (tube from kidney to bladder) to keep it open, bypass blockages (like kidney stones or swelling), and ensure urine drains from the kidney to the bladder, allowing healing and temporary support. Its coiled ends anchor it in place, preventing migration, while the smooth, hollow center maintains a clear pathway, often causing temporary bladder irritation or flank pain until removed. 

A DJ stent, also known as a ureteral stent, is a thin and flexible tube placed in the ureter—the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder. A Stone Retrieval Basket (or Dormia basket) is a flexible, endoscopic medical device, often made from Nitinol or stainless steel, designed to capture and remove stones (calculi) and foreign bodies from the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder) or digestive tract during minimally invasive procedures, featuring wires that expand and contract via an adjustable knob for precise grasping and removal.
